Every Sunday a group of Baha’is gather on a Chicago beach to play volleyball and enjoy each other’s company. I’ve not been able to go because of work and family commitments, but yesterday, I did.
I’m going again next weekend. Yeah. It was that much fun, with some of the coolest people you’ll ever meet and very tasty watermelon.

Sometimes I have too much time to think at work.
Especially when resetting the men’s jeans wall, which is mind-numbingly boring and 24 feet long.
The first flower is the Baha plant I put in the back yard years ago. I planted it, and it has survived Chicago winters, summers, too much & too little watering. And I don’t have to do a thing.
Just because every girl needs to treat herself after a long day at work.
Ingredients:
1 banana
3 strawberries
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
BLEND.
Working in Logistics, I have discovered that I am not cut out for a 3 am job. That is all. I work with Security this week. Woot. It is a lot cooler than it sounds…I hope.
Book update:
I finished the two fantasy books I had talked about and read two more (total 4). I am still working on Anna Karenina, got bored with it for a while there. I returned The Rise of the Creative Class to the library. I just couldn’t get into it!

The picnic that I go to every year, my favorite event of the entire summer…was canceled because of rain. It poured here all day.
*sigh*
So we made the best of it and got food at Maggiano’s and then went to a friend’s apartment and danced the night away. I love my friends.
I’m very tired. Goodnight.
Thank God for a 3 day weekend. Apartment hunting, hanging out with friends, picnic, seeing my sister. So much to do!
I was on a 3 am-11:30 am shift this week at work. I rotate to the different parts of the store each week.
