Live @ The Vic

I went with a friend to see Live at The Vic on Tuesday night.

Amazing.

I must start by saying that Live has been one of my favorite bands for at least the last 8 years. I’ve never seen them perform live. They’ve been doing this for over 15 years, and you can tell that they absolutely love their job. 2 encores, old favorites and songs from their cd that is coming out in June. 1.5 hours of wonderful music.

I’m still happy from it. Amazing how music can do that to you. Click to see a list of some of the songs that they played.

(In no particular order, and I’m sure I forgot a few!)

Mirror Song – Mental Jewelry

The Dolphin’s Cry – The Distance To Here
Voodoo Lady – The Distance To Here
They Stood Up For Love – The Distance To Here

Selling The Drama- Throwing Copper
I Alone- Throwing Copper
Iris- Throwing Copper
Lightning Crashes- Throwing Copper
All Over You- Throwing Copper
White Discussion- Throwing Copper

Heaven- Birds of Pray

The River- Songs From Black Mountain
Mystery- Songs From Black Mountain
Wings- Songs From Black Mountain
Sofia- Songs From Black Mountain
Show- Songs From Black Mountain

They ended with my favorite song:
Dance With You – The Distance To Here

  1. Oh cool, I love Live. But I think I was more of a Throwing Copper/Secret Samadhi fan than anything. I did get to see them back in 1997 which was cool. They played with Luscious Jackson. Aweosome.

  2. Awesome! Glad you had a great time! I’m bummed that I missed out on my “Big 90s Band Playing On Tuesday Night in Chicago” concert. Oh well!

  3. Lacey- Yeah their older stuff was pretty good. My fave cd is The Distance to Here.

Andrew- Aw man that sucks. 🙁

  4. Yeah Live is amazing. I saw them a few years back when they did a co-headline with Counting Crows. And the setlist looks awesome – they really did play the best of the best.
Glad you had a good time!

  5. Live is a great band to see…uh….live. I saw them 5 times on the Counting Crows/Live tour. Great band, great energy.
