I am watching the beauty of
\nsmiles between friends,
\nthe smile on a child’s porcelain-doll face.<\/p>\n
I am wondering at the thousand ways
\nthe wind can change my heart,
\nthe way my heart can change my mind
\nand the way my soul sinks into the earth.<\/p>\n
Wait!<\/p>\n
I caught the faint ends of the
\nknowledge of the Divine,
\nthe last tendrils of the
\nsmouldering fire of the heavens.
\nAnd if you saw a glimpse only to reject it,
\nmy heart weeps for you.<\/p>\n
There are tasks I’ve yet to start,
\ndreams that I am painting in order to
\nstart dreaming them.<\/p>\n
You have so many choices
\nand one or two or three paths to take.
\nOnly four or five or six exponential
\nleaps of logic
\nbefore your intuition takes over.<\/p>\n
Through the sea of faces
\nthe singular virtue in each glows dully
\nveiled in the layers of dust and time,
\nof the grime of the hours of life.<\/p>\n
I am waiting for the silence between stars
\nto narrow and divide.
\nWe can travel there
\nto the edges of the unraveling universe.<\/p>\n
