{"id":882,"date":"2006-05-24T11:36:24","date_gmt":"2006-05-24T09:36:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sholeh.calmstorm.net\/word\/archives\/882"},"modified":"2006-05-24T11:36:24","modified_gmt":"2006-05-24T09:36:24","slug":"not-surprised","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sholeh.calmstorm.net\/blog\/archives\/882","title":{"rendered":"Not surprised."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center>I am still trying to understand<br \/>\nhow people get to know each other<br \/>\nto form friendships or assumptions<br \/>\nbased on 5 minute meetings in a<br \/>\ncrowded room.<\/p>\n<p>I am trying to fathom how one can<br \/>\nmake any judgement of who I am<br \/>\nwhen they&#8217;ve never tried to know me<br \/>\nor have a conversation beyond &#8220;hellos&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I am trying to discern<br \/>\nhow it can be justified to say things<br \/>\nmasked as &#8220;concern for a friend&#8221;<br \/>\nbut are hurtful in any case.<\/p>\n<p>I am trying to figure out<br \/>\nwhat it is I did to make them feel unwelcome<br \/>\nor why they simply did not approach me<br \/>\nwhen they felt slighted.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe I am mistaken<br \/>\nbut I was pretty sure we are supposed to<br \/>\nbe going for a higher standard here.<\/p>\n<p>But who am I to say<br \/>\nhow others should think of me?<br \/>\nMaybe I need to try harder<br \/>\nbut I feel like there is only so much<br \/>\nI can do.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/smg.photobucket.com\/albums\/v92\/fireflyinthecity\/th_143834249_3543100fcb.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am still trying to understand how people get to know each other to form friendships or assumptions based on 5 minute meetings in a crowded room.
