I could have checked on the computer.<br \/>\nI left it on out of pure laziness,<br \/>\nand I felt like my brain was melting out my ears.<br \/>\nThe news alternated between reports of deaths and accidents<br \/>\nto gossip on celebrities and their marital troubles.<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t know why I am surprised each time<br \/>\nthat I try to find out what is happening in the world<br \/>\nand all I find out about<br \/>\nis what is happening at home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I turned on the television to see if a storm was coming in.
