Today was one of those days.\u00c2\u00a0 I was woken by a call from a dear friend who I haven’t spoken to in years.\u00c2\u00a0 She and I laughed and talked and agreed to meet this week for lunch.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 While we talked I made rice, pot roast, and coffee.<\/p>\n
Mom came home and insisted on going for a walk, since it was 61 degrees F outside (16 degrees C).\u00c2\u00a0 For February in Chicago, this is unheard of.\u00c2\u00a0 So of course we enjoyed the sunlight and I felt my spirits pick up.\u00c2\u00a0 Winter really does number on me.<\/p>\n
I hung paintings around the house this afternoon, which is a bit of an ongoing project for me for several reasons.\u00c2\u00a0 First, we have lots of wall space.\u00c2\u00a0 Second, we have a lot of paintings, as my paternal grandparents were artists.\u00c2\u00a0 Finally, I tend to have a short attention span when it comes to decorating.\u00c2\u00a0 Sometimes I rotate paintings in the house for fun.\u00c2\u00a0 There is something satisfying about hammering nails into the framing boards of the paintings.<\/p>\n
I spent the rest of the evening in the library, which is pretty much like heaven for me.\u00c2\u00a0 I think that the only thing that would make it better would be to attach an ice cream shop, and perhaps add a swimming pool…haha, well, in any case, I was very productive and that made me happy.<\/p>\n
