one time a crow entered our basement by way of the dryer vent (i guess someone left the dryer door open, lucky for the bird). we found it perched on a line down there, swinging back and forth. then it got trapped above the ceiling panels and getting it out was an adventure.

That is kinda funny. When I was staying at the Sheraton Tower in Chi-town back in July, a pigeon found its way into the lobby. From there it saw light and made a break for it…. Only it was only glass windows. The exits were back into the lobby or two floors down.
